Abstract: With 4-vinylpyridine as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker, uniform-sized molecularly imprinted polymers for β-oestradiol (oestradiol; I) and bisphenol A (II) were prepared by multi-step swelling and thermal polymerization. Such copolymers has a selectivity of 2.3-2.6 towards I and a selectivity of 7.1 towards II, but low selectivity towards benzene, phenol, p-t-octylphenol, etc. It is possible that the difference in selectivity is due to the difference in the number of interaction sites on the templates. Other results are also discussed. (Analytical Abstracts 2000)
Template and target information: β-oestradiol, bisphenol A
