Abstract: The cited polymer was prepared by the molecular imprinting technique for L-phenylalanine ethyl ester (I)/methacrylic acid/butanediol diacrylate (1:4:20) and LR8893X as initiator, under N2 at 0°C by irradiation at 366 nm. The polymer was ground and sieved for packing into a column (20 cm × 3.9 mm i.d.) for HPLC in the chiral separation of I from its enantiomer, with acetonitrile/acetic acid (95:5) as mobile phase at 0.6 ml/min and detection at 260 nm. Polymerization mechanism is discussed in optimizing the chiral separation. (Analytical Abstracts 2003)
