Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers are selective polymeric sorbents. They may be prepared for almost any adsorband by selforganization principles. Miniaturization and automation of their preparation and testing is feasible and speeds up the optimization process. Two important fields of application for the imprinted polymers are chromatography and binding assays. Method optimization in both applications may be accelerated by measuring and using the corresponding adsorption isotherms.
