Abstract: Gallium ions and 8-hydroxyquinoline ternary complex ( Gaq3 ) imprinted polymers were prepared employing acrylamide as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker and 2, 2'-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator in a mixture of chloroform and methanol ( V/V, 3:2) and characterized by IR and TGA. The adsorption characteristics of as-prepared polymers were evaluated by isotherm adsorption and Langmuir adsorption model. As solid-phase extraction materials, the as-prepared molecularly imprinted polymers can separate and enrich Ga(III) from pulverized coal ash successfully with the recovery of 97.36%
