Abstract: Based on sol-gel molecular imprinting technology,a sensitive and selective electrochemical method for the direct determination of melamine in complex matrix was developed. The electrochemical behavior of melamine was initially studied and a possible oxidation mechanism was proposed. The experimental conditions for the electrochemical determination of melamine were optimized. It was found that a characteristic oxidation peak appeared at 0.75 V,and the peak currents were linearly dependant on the logarithm of melamine concentration,I(μA)=10.78lg c(mol/L)+99.76 (R=0.9973).It was proved that the method has excellent selectivity. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the determination of the concentration of melamine in the milk and soymilk samples and the recoveries were in the range of 97.5%~103.3%.
