Abstract: A synthetic polymer selector for 4-aminoazobenzene was prepared by molecular imprinting technology by using 4-aminoazobenzene as the template, methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) as crosslinker.Chromatographic analysis showed that the 4-aminoazobenzene-imprinted polymer was capable of recognizing the functional difference of the two close analogues in aqueous phase. The effects of mobile phase composition,pH and temperature on the separation were investigated, and the optimum conditions for HPLC were selected as:mobile phase,methanol-water (80:20);pH 6.0;temperature,25 °C.4-aminoazobenzene from its analogue (methyl orange) can be separated effectively.Scatchard analysis was used to investigate the binding characteristics of the 4-aminoazobenzene-imprinted stationary phase. The most important was that the MIP column had realized on-line trace substance enrichment without tedious pretreatment in the total experiment. This provided a very simple, cheap, effective method for assaying trace substance.
