Abstract: Molecular imprinting technology can be used to prepare the polymers which possess the ability of specific recognition toward template molecules.Recently, the surface molecular imprinting technique which designs the molecular recognition sites on the surface of imprinted materials has received significant attention.Consequently,it can improve the binding rate between recognition sites and imprinted molecules, and thus modify adsorption efficiency of the imprinted materials. There are some significant advantages of silica-gel,such as mechanical/thermal stability, high selective adsorption, and so on.In this article, the syntheses and properties development of silica/organic matters and silica/metal ions polymers based on silica are reviewed. The prospect of molecular imprinting technique on silica gel surface is also proposed.
