Abstract: The pollution of heavy metal ions in drinking water is a main problem in feedwater treatment.Microspheric Cu(II) ion imprinted polymer is synthesized using methacrylic acid as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linker by the inverse micro-emulsion polymerization approach. And fourier transform-infrared spectra(FT-IR) and the scanning electron microscopy(SEM) are employed to characterize it structure.Furthermore, the adsorptive capacity of microspheric Cu(II) ion imprinted polymers is tested in drinking water. The test results show that the microspheric Cu(II) ion imprinted polymers have good adsorptive capacities for Cu(II) ion
