Abstract: The Cu2+-imprinted polymers were prepared from emulsion polymerization using potassium persulfate as initiator, divinyl benzene(DVB) as cross-linking agent, styrene(St) as matrix monomer, sodium dodecyl sulfate as emulsifier, and acrylic acid, acrylamide, methacrylic acid as functional monomers. The effects of Cu2+ with functional monomers were investigated by UV spectroscopy. Then with definite amount of initiator, the orthogonal experimentation was applied to investigate the effects of the type of functional monomer, the pH value of medium, the molar ratio of Cu2+ to functional monomer and the mass ratio of DVB to St on the adsorbability and selectivity of the prepared polymers. The preferable reaction conditions were obtained, and the synthesis and recognition process of Cu2+-imprinted polymers was sketched out.
