Abstract: Fluoroquinolones (FQs) are piperazinyl derivates of quinolones, and are commonly used in human and veterinarian medicine as antibacterial agents against several diseases over the last decade [1,2]. The presence of FQs in edible animal products is a significant risk which can be directly toxic or cause of pathogen resistance inhumans[3]. Therefore, sensitive and selective analytical methods are required to monitor the residues possibly present in animal-producing food. Molecular imprinting is a rapidly developing technique for the preparation of polymers having specific molecular recognition properties [4]. Briefly, the mixturesof 2.0mmol ofloxacin, 10mmol MAA, 60mmol EDMA, and0.5mmol AIBN was dissolved in 15mL porogenic solvents(methanol:water = 9:1, v/v). Then the solution was sonicated for 10 min and purged with nitrogen gas for 15 min before sealed under nitrogen protection. Polymerization was performed under 53 ?C in water bath for 48 h. The obtained polymers were grinding and sieving to get particles and washing with tetrahydrofuran and methanol–acetic acid–trifluoracetic acid (TFA) (80:19:1, v/v) to remove the templates [5]. Molecularly imprinted polymers for ofloxacin were synthesized by precipitation ploymerzation method using ofloxacin as templates and methacryclic acid as functional monomers. Water-compatible molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were prepared in water – methanol systems for selective determination and separation of ofloxacin from milk sample. The ofloxacin molecular imprinted synthesized polymer has been investigated in different pH in batch system and pH= 3.5 with adsorption capacity 0.832 mg/g is the optimized application pH and optimized time with adsorption capacity 1.741 mg/g has been 240 min. Novel water-compatible MIPs were prepared in water–methanol system, which show high affinity and selectivity to the ofloxacin in aqueous environment
