Abstract: Molecular imprinting technique (MIT) is an emerging interdisciplinary methodology that is developing in recent years by utilizing the advantages of macromolecular synthesic, molecular design, molecular recognition and bio-mimic bioengineering. Molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) exhibit both advantages of highly stero- and enantio-selective recognition and strong resistance against corrosion. Therefore, MIPs are used extensively in biotechnology, clinical medicine, environmental monitoring, food industries etc. In this article, the principle of molecular imprinting is introduced and the methods that are newly developed for the preparation of molecularly imprinted polymers have been reviewed. The use of molecularly imprinted polymers in microanalysis were mainly discussed.
