Abstract: Molecular imprinted polymers were prepared by bulk polymerization and suspension(polymerization,) respectively. In the polymerization procedure, S-(-)-α-phenylethylamine was used as target template molecules, methacrylic acid(MAA) as functional monomers, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EDMA) as the crosslinker, azobisisobutyronitrile or benzophenone as irritator. The effects of different factors on the binding capacity were studied by UV spectroscopy,equili-(brium) binding assay and scatchard model. Results show the properties of polymers prepared by suspension polymerization are better than those prepared by bulk polymerization. The adsorption vary from 10% to 30%;the separate factor (α) between S-(-)-α-phenylethylamine and acetophenone(the substrate analog) for all polymers is 1.0 above, and the maximum of α is 2.86.Molecularly imprinted polymers could direct separate enantiomer of α-phenylethylamine,and R can reach 1.93.
