Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers are prepared on the surface of porous polymethyl methacrylate precursor microspheres using L-tryptophan as template, acrylamide as functional monomer and N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide as cross-linker.The effects of the specific surface area of precursor microspheres and the addition of acrylonitrile on the adsorption of surface molecularly imprinted polymers (SMIPs) are discussed. The results show that the SMIPs exhibite higher adsorption capacity when the specific surface area of the precursor microspheres is 432.0 m2/g.The SMIPs possess better properties of adsorption when the molar ratio of acrylonitrile to L-tryptophan is 3:1.
