Abstract: It is an important aspect of modernization for Chinese traditional herb that active composition of Chinese traditional herb is studied with modern science and technology. Affinity chromatography is prepared through molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). Based on high performance of chromatographic separation technology and highly sensitive and special combinational analysis ability of mass spectrogram, MIP-HPLC-MS is connected. Therefore, active composition from Chinese traditional herb may be separated, selected and identified, which realized combinational technology of separation, selection and identification for active composition of Chinese traditional herb. The mechanism of molecular imprinting technology (MIT) and synthetic processes of MIPs were introduced in this paper. Application of MIT for separation, selection and identification for active composition of Chinese traditional herb were summarized, and the trends of MIT were also discussed in this paper.
