Abstract: The polymer used for quick determination of 4-methyl imidazole (4-MI) was prepared by molecular imprinting. The uniformly imprinted polymer microspheres were prepared by precipitation polymerization in acetonitrile, using 4-MI as template, methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer, azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linker. The UV spectrophotometry was used to demonstrate the interaction between 4-MI and MAA. It was found that one 4-MI was entrapped by one MAA molecules, which was the main existing form of subject and object. Langmuir model was used to analyze the adsorption data. The Scatchard chart showed the apparent maximum binding capacity (Bmax) and the dissociation contents (KD) of the imprinted polymer were 221.14 μmol/g and 1.8 mmol/L, respectively. The absorption selectivity and absorption kinetics of imprinted polymer were preliminarily studied.
