Abstract: Using microcystin (MC)-LR as imprinted molecules, the molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were successfully prepared through swelling and polymerization. The MIPs were characterized by FT-IR, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy, and their enrichment and separation performances for microcystins in water were investigated. The results show that the average concentration of MC-LR adsorbed by the MIPs in solution decreases from 0.86 mg/L to 0.07 mg/L. The adsorption capacity of MIPs is 39.50 μmol/g and the removal rate reaches to over 91%. Furthermore, the MIPs have an excellent recognition and specific adsorption capacities, which provides a new method for removal of MC.
