Abstract: A novle molecularly imprinted polymer with specific recognition ability for ethyl-paraben (EP) was prepared by precipitation polymerization, using methacrylic acid (MAA) as the functional monomer, ethylene dimethacrylate (EDMA) as the linking agent, chloroform as porogenic solvents and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the thermal polymerization initiator. The optimization condition was obtained by orthogonal experiments, the ratio of template molecule, functional monomer, crosslinker was 1:6:20, the reaction temperature is 65 °C. The maximum adsorption was gotten under the optimization conditions. The adsorbability and selectivity of imprinted polymer microspheres were measured by UV spectrophotometer. The absorption of ethyl paraben by imprinted polymer microspheres is 866.55 μg/g, while the absorption by non-imprinted polymer microspheres is 406.72 μg/g.
