Abstract: In this work application of novel ion imprinted polymer (IIP) based on dipyridile amine coated on Fe3O4 nano-particles as a novel magnetic sorbent for rapid extraction, preconcentration and determination of trace amounts of gold ions were investigated. The optimum conditions, including pH of sample, eluent type and concentration, also the least amounts of eluent for desorption of gold ions were obtained. The effect of various cationic interferences on the adsorption of gold specially Pt and Pd were evaluated. The analytical efficiency value of gold ions was greater than 98.0% in the optimum condition. The limit of detection (LOD) was less than 0.2 ng mL-1 for gold extraction. The maximum capacity of this IIP modified magnetic nano-particles were obtained more than 152 mg g-1. Also the accuracy of this method was
confirmed using various standard materials.
