Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared using malachite green(MG) as imprinting molecule by bulk polymerization. Interactions between functional monomer(α-methacrylic acid, MAA) and template were observed using UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy of solutions of these components as well. The polymer was loaded into the self-made solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridge to concentrate MG. The result s indicated that the interactions should be cooperative hydrogen bonds or ionic bond produced by self-assembly. The stoichiometric mole ratio of MG-MAA complex is 1:2. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) exhibited that the the polymers were rich in pore structure which favored adsorption and the diameter were in the range of 45 to 80 μm. Sample analysis showed that the adsorption effect of polymers on MG was excellent, it could be used in trace analysis.
