Abstract: A Cd2+-imprinted silica gel sorbent was prepared by surface imprinted method with Cd2+ as the template, 3-[2-(2-aminoethylamino)ethylamino]propyl-trimethoxysilane as the functional monomer, silica gel as the support, and epichlorohydrin as the cross-linking agent. The adsorption properties and selective recognition ability of the imprinted sorbent were studied by equilibrium-adsorption method. The results showed that the maximum static adsorption capacity of the imprinted sorbent was 30.8mg/g, the adsorption equilibrium could be reached in 20min, there was no influence of pH values in the range of 4-8 on the adsorption capacity of the imprinted sorbent, and the imprinted sorbent could be used repeatedly and indicated high selectivity for Cd2+ even in the presence of the other metal ions
