Abstract: The preparation of stable synthetic polymers having specific receptor structures is important in biology, medicine and biotechnology. Methacrylic polymers, selective for nucleotides, amino acids and herbicides have been prepared using the molecular imprinting technique. The selectivity of template polymers has been shown to be dependent on the amount and nature of the interactions between the substrate and the stationary polymer phase, as well as on the shape of the imprinting molecules and the polymer cavities
