Abstract: We synthesized cadmium ion imprinted monolithic column in polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) chip using in-situ polymerization technique, with the cadmium ion as a template, acrylamide and 4-vinylpyridine as functional monomer, ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA) as a crosslinking agent,cyclohexanol/dodecanol as porogen.A method for enrichment-electrophoresis-online detection of metal ion was therefore developed. The results from Scanning electron microscope(SEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) indicated that the monolith has a good pore structure. We combined the cadmium ion imprinted monolithic column with solid phase extraction, and optimized the conditions for enrichment/elution of Cd2+ and investigated the adsorption and enrichment capacity on ion imprinted monolith as well. Finally, the integration of the Cd2+ enrichment, chip electrophoresis and chemiluminescence detection using luminol-hydrogen peroxide system has been realized on the microfluidic chip.
