Abstract: Sorbent-based techniques have found a significant place in sample preparation, especially in the extraction of pesticides from foods. Their reliability, high selectivity and extraction capacity as well as their different formats and the high number of stationary phases available, have greatly consolidated their use, especially for the analysis of highly complex samples. The present chapter intends to revise the different applications of solid-phase extraction, solid-phase microextraction, stir-bar sorptive extraction, and matrix solid-phase dispersion, for the extraction of pesticides from foods. Particularly, the application of different stationary phases, on-line and off-line approaches in addition to new selective and emerging phases such as immunosorbents, carbon nanotubes, or molecularly imprinted polymers have also been reviewed and commented
