Abstract: A molecular imprinted polymer, prepared around a tamoxifen template, has been synthesised. The feasibility of using this polymer for solid-phase extraction of tamoxifen from biological samples has been investigated. The results show that the drug can be quantitatively retained and eluted from the polymer using acetonitrile-acetic acid. Experiments with biological fluids indicate that clean traces are obtained for HPLC with UV detection using this type of protocol
