Patent Title: Method and apparatus for the detection of substances or analytes from the analysis of one or more samples
Publication date: 2004
Publication number: WO2004106922
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for the detection of substances or analytes from the analysis of one or more samples. The inventive method consists in: mixing the sample with a suitable buffer liquid, homogenising the sample, adding reagents thereto, filtering the sample, injecting said sample into an incubation chamber, leaving same to react with a biosensor, washing the excess unreacted sample, and detecting the sample retained in the biosensor. The inventive apparatus consists of: a sample-homogenising unit comprising a piezoelectric ultrasound device which is formed by a converter (49) and a horn (16); a sample-processing unit comprising a container for homogenisation (6) and a mobile frame (17); a unit for managing the reagents and solutions, which comprises a motor-driven syringe (60); a reaction module consisting of a support (50) which forms a reaction chamber (51); and a data read module comprising a laser diode (66) and a CCD camera (67).
