Patent Title: Polymer specifically recognizing bile acid and hypocholesterolemic agent
Publication date: 2003
Publication number: JP2003113091
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer capable of more selectively absorbing only a bile acid than ever, and to provide a hypocholesterolemic agent excellent in compliance.
SOLUTION: This polymer specifically recognizing the bile acid has a specific recognition site which is formed by a molecular imprinting method so as to recognize at least one kind of the bile acid or at least one kind of a bile acid complex micelle which comprises the bile acid and a compound capable of forming the micelle with the bile acid, wherein the polymer has such a structure that a copolymer comprising an imidazole compound and an epihalohydrin compound is cross-linked. The hypocholesterolemic agent contains the polymer as a principal component.
