Patent Title: Process for producing polymer microsphere in form of surface imprinted core-shell structure for selectively separating heavy metal ion

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polymer microspheres in the form of a surface imprinted core-shell structure for selectively separating heavy metal ions. ; SOLUTION: A molecularly imprinted polymer is produced by a core-shell polymerization method through two steps. As one example, the polymer can be produced through a step of producing seed particles using styrene and divinylbenzene (DVB) and a step of forming a metal ion imprinted polymer on the surface of the seed particles. The imprinted polymer produced by this method is extremely advantageous economically and environmentally since the time for separating heavy metal ions is shortened by the presence of imprinted sites on the surface of a support (for example, a PS bead) as well as the use of a surface active agent or a stabilizer is unnecessary. ; COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
