Patent Title: Polymer membranes containing enzymes covalenty immobilized on molecularly imprinted polymers and process for preparing the same
Publication date: 2011
Publication number: RO123276
Abstract: The invention relates to polymeric membranes containing enzymes covalently immobilized on molecularly imprinted polymers and to a process for preparing the same, with application in the field of enzyme biosensors for water pollutants. According to the invention, the product is represented by polymer membranes containing the covalently immobilized enzymes, characterized by increased sensitivity and selectivity. The claimed process consists in preparing a solution having a concentration of 8...12% polymer and 8...10% pesticide, by dissolving polyvinyl alcohol in dimethyl sulphur oxide for 3...4 h, at a temperature of 70...80 DEG , to obtain membranes by pulling on a glass plate, which are either dried at 105...115 DEG C for 45...60 min, at a pressure of 20...30 mm Hg, or quickly immersed into a coagulation bath containing isopropyl alcohol and dimethyl sulphur oxide at 105...115 DEG C, followed by the thermal treatment of membranes for 5...10 min, acetalization at 145...155 DEG C for 15...30 min in an acetalization bath, then by washing with demineralized water up to neutralization, drying, extraction in methanol or chloroform for 30...60 min and washing, the membranes being then used as a support for the covalent immobilization of enzymes by treating with a solution of acetylcholine esterase or tyrosinase in phosphate buffer, for 90...150 min, at 4...22 DEG C.
