Abstract: A phosphate sensor employs a membrane which comprises a molecularly imprinted polymer produced from a thiourea derivative as functional monomer and a phosphate analogue (e.g. phenylphosphonic acid) as template. The membrane can be used for electrochemical detection and quantification of phosphate species, either amperometrically or potentiometrically.
